Kenneth G. Goode, Jr.

Kenneth was born in Winnsboro, South Carolina and moved to Charleston, South Carolina in 2001 to attend the College of Charleston. After graduating College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, he began law school at the Charleston School of Law. While in law school, Kenneth served as the Treasurer, Secretary and Vice Chair of the Honor Council. He received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Advanced Legal Research and was named to the Dean’s List of his graduating class. In addition to his academic pursuits, Kenneth also clerked for the law firm of Prenner Marvel, PA, while seeking his Juris Doctorate degree. After clerking for two years, he joined the firm as a licensed attorney, focusing on a variety of practice areas including personal injury, maritime, criminal defense, and family law. Kenneth stayed with the firm until its dissolution in 2015, and opened The Law Office of Kenneth G. Goode, Jr., LLC.
Since the beginning of his own practice, Kenneth has narrowed his focus to primarily injury type cases, but still handles an array of matters, including criminal defense. Kenneth has successfully represented clients through matters ranging from distribution of controlled substances, murder, breach of contracts, auto accidents, slip and falls, wrongful death, false imprisonment, and motorcycle accidents, to name a few. He often says, “If I can’t help you, I probably can tell you who can.” Having grown up around and working in the legal community of South Carolina, Kenneth has been able to keep his practice small and client focused by using his contacts and resources to build legal teams to tackle complex and tough legal cases. This is exemplified in the case of Norat v. Fluor Intercontinental, Inc. 6:14-CV-04902-BHH, 2018 WL 1382666 (D.S.C. Mar. 19, 2018), one of the few cases under the United States Fourth Circuit that helped successfully create an avenue for persons injured by private military contractors to recover. Kenneth, as lead co-counsel in that case, was able to achieve success for his clients by creating a legal team with his closest colleagues to take on big corporations and insurance companies. Since the opening of his own practice, this strategy has worked for Kenneth in many complex cases to recover millions of dollars for his clients.
Kenneth is licensed in the State of South Carolina and United States District Court for the District of South Carolina. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar, Charleston County Bar, and past president of the Charleston Lawyers Club.
When not working, Kenneth enjoys time with his wife, Rebecca, and daughter, Poppy, and dogs Caly and Kevin. Kenneth is an avid motorcycle enthusiast, surfer, boater and mountain biker. He is longtime member of the American Motorcyclist Association, Southeastern Trail Rider’s Association and Francis Marion Rider’s Association. He has enjoyed traveling and surfing waves across the United States, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, and continues to pursue those adventures.
